Sweetheart Table Design for Wedding | Wedding Decor

The one universal piece of wedding day advice that everyone agrees on – your wedding day will go by in a blink of an eye.  Meaning carving out time to spend with your newly betrothed is so important.  Possibly the best way to make sure you get a little alone time is with a sweetheart table! This small table (typically separated from your guests) gives just the right amount of seclusion and comfort.  Though we always think there are a few common elements that make your sweetheart table design perfect.

DO: Invest in extra special touches.

Dreaming of over-the-top table details? Your sweetheart table design is a perfect spot to showcase your unique style and stay within your budget.

DON’T: Just follow trends.

It’s hard to not get pulled into every Pinterest-worthy wedding trend. To help with a Pinterest hangover we suggest keeping a wedding mood board handy for the simple reminder of what you intentionally picked out.

DO: Add comforting touches.

Make it feel welcoming. Add blankets, pillows, and other sentimental memorabilia to create a sweetheart table that feels cozy.

DON’T: Add anything you don’t love.

There are so many beautiful ways to bring family tradition to your big day. But let your sweetheart table design remain yours.

Do: Add candles to your sweetheart table design.

Create an extra bit of romantic glow for you and yours with some well-placed tapers.  We carry all 10 colors of The Floral Society Tapers available for purchase in our showroom.

Don’t: Ignore the weather!

If it’s going to be windy add some hurricanes to surround your candles. It’s better to be safe than sorry and the clear glass around your candles adds an elegant feature – along with that extra step of safety.

Do: Use seating that makes it easier to cuddle up.

We love how this couple used our Haven Sofa as seating for their sweetheart table design.

Don’t: Opt for style over comfort.

This little table is supposed to be your little private oasis. Don’t adorn it with anything that makes you happy to leave it.

Do: Find ways to include your partner.

It never fails. One person is all about the wedding, the other is typically less-than-partial. An easy way to make your partner feel included, even when they opt out, is to include memorabilia or a favorite snack of theirs waiting at the sweetheart table.

Don’t: Steamroll

There is absolutely nothing wrong with being passionate about your day just make sure it’s not to the detriment of your partner.

This sweetheart table design could not have been created without the amazing vendors behind it.
